The Library of the Prime Ministers Museum and Library is one of the foremost research libraries in the country for the study of modern and contemporary Indian history. Established in 1966, the Library supports advanced research into India's political, social, economic, and cultural development.

Center for Contemporary Studies
The Centre for Contemporary Studies functions as a constituent unit of the Division and focuses on research relating to contemporary India. It administers fellowship programmes including Junior Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow, Resident Fellowship, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Fellowship, and the NMML Fellowship in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. The Centre also organizes seminars, lectures, and workshops to promote academic discourse.
